Three Things to Check Before You Set Your Makeup

Some people are meticulous about setting their makeup at every stage of their routine. However, for those who prefer a more streamlined morning routine, setting your makeup right before you head out the door is often the way to go. This ensures that everything is perfectly in place.

To keep your makeup looking flawless all day, make sure you’ve properly set these key products:

Foundation

Whether you’ve opted for light or full coverage, your foundation should stay put and not slide out of place. Before setting it, check for any creases under your eyes or on your forehead. If you set your makeup while these creases are present, your look could already be compromised before you even step outside.

Eyebrow Liner

Eyebrows have become a crucial part of any makeup routine, often seen as a measure of how well your makeup is done. After carefully shaping and filling in your brows, it’s important to set them so that each hair stays in place. Invest in quality eyebrow products, and don’t forget to use a spoolie to brush the hairs into position and blend everything seamlessly. Only after applying the final touches, like concealer or highlighter along your brow bone, should you set your eyebrow makeup to ensure it lasts all day.

Eyeliner

Whether you’re going for a subtle look or something more dramatic, eyeliner plays a key role in enhancing your features. Before setting your makeup, make sure the line is straight and, if you’re doing a cat-eye, that both eyes match. It’s easy to get one eye just right, but matching the other can be tricky. Use a Q-tip with a bit of concealer to correct any mistakes without needing to start over. Once you’re happy with your eyeliner, finish the look with a setting spray or powder.

Final Touches

Your makeup will last longer and look better throughout the day if you set it properly. But before you reach for that setting spray or powder, make sure you’re completely satisfied with how each product looks on your face.
